Wow! Talk about a shock! Went into work today, the day after the assistant manager left to find out that the manager has put in her 2-weeks' notice as well. She's taken a job with Hallmark and will be leaving by the 15th. That's just 2 days before I leave for Dallas and the annual writer's conference. She's also said that she hasn't made any decisions on the SSA position, so I'm still in limbo. What she *did* tell me was that she was going to have me take over a few things then appoint Barb as the acting SSA until a decision can be made for a new manager.
This is just bogus what she's done to Keith. The day after he leaves, and she announces that she's leaving too. He made no effort to hide the fact that he wanted to be a manager, and he would've made an excellent one! Now, he's gone, and she's leaving. You can't tell me she didn't plan all of this or know about it beforehand. What an underhanded and devious thing to do. Guess that shows how much she cares about us...or doesn't. And Barb? As SSA? The woman's only been with the company less than a year. She doesn't know anything about running a store, and especially not having to deal with the staff. Her people skills are quite lacking.
Should be real interesting in the coming months. I pray they make a decision real soon on the new manager. I know I won't get that, but perhaps I'll get SSA and Barb can go back to her associate level work. She is NOT a good fit for that position. That much, I know.
Hope you're praying for me in general terms. At least God will be able to take those prayers and tack on the specifics of my needs. :)
