Happy 30th to Me!

Well, my friends sure knocked off my socks with this one! After dinner, where not everyone could come, we headed to another friend's house for some after-dinner partying. This included fondue chocolate and strawberries, Beringer White Zinfandel, and a fantastic sampling of nostalgic 80's music. I made some references to certain songs being perfect to describe what I believe will be descriptive of our relationship when it happens. They all looked at me strangely, but I don't care. I've been running songs through my head for years, dreaming of you and the day when we'll finally realize our love. So many great songs are out there, and this time at the party was full of me looking forward to that day.

Hard to believe I'm 30 though. Doesn't feel too different, but knowing I've entered this new decade puts a new slant on things. Saying my age somehow makes me feel like I've joined a different group, a more mature group, and one that's ready for the next phase in life.

Of course, this party also involved the married ladies giving me an "education" about married life and telling me I should be prepared for when it happens to me. Ugh! They didn't need to go into THAT much detail, that's for sure. There's a reason why the saying was made: "What happens behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors." Some things just weren't meant to be shared, and what some of those ladies said tonight falls into that category. Thankfully, I was able to cut them off early before they got too bad.

I cringe at what they'll do if they're still around when it comes time for my bridal shower and bachelorette party. *biting nails* I'm just not that kinda gal. :)
