Summer Days Gone By

It's been 3 weeks since the Senior Sales Associate left for a full-time job in her field of study. I heard from her recently, and she's so happy with her new job. After working with her for almost 5 years and knowing just how unhappy she was at the store but couldn't find anywhere else to work that was close enough to home to allow her to finish her degree, it's great to know she's found a niche.

Of course, that makes things more difficult at the bookstore, since I had to assume her job with special orders added to my ICS work. Keith, our ASM, helps a lot, but there are many other tasks he has to handle since the mgr. spends most of her time holed up in her office with paperwork and other things. I get the feeling something's not quite right, but I can't put my finger on it. Time will tell, though. Just biding my time until that happens.

Can't help but wonder how your summer is going, and how work for you is. Do things slow down or do they pick up during the "vacation" months? After June returns, we have our "Christmas in July" clearance sale and get ready for Christmas shipments that come in September. August is usually the slowest point to start with it picking up at the end of the month for back-to-school purchases.

One day at a time...
