Too Much In Common?

Went to a booksigning today with some local authors who are in one of the groups I direct. Spoke with one of the authors, who asked me the 2 questions most women ask upon meeting each other.

Are you married? Do you have children?

No...and no. But, it's all good. I know the timing isn't right yet, but when it is, I'll be ready. One point she made I found encouraging or "enlightening," depending upon how you look at it. She spoke of her husband and how they came from similar family backgrounds and fell in the same place in the birth order. They each had an older sibling 17 months older and a younger sibling 9 *years* younger. I related to her that I'm in a similar situation with an older brother who's 17 months older and a younger brother who is 8 years younger followed by another brother who's 13 years younger.

She smiled and said if I can find a man who comes from a background like that, it will make for a more harmonious relationship, because we'll both be coming from the same perspective on siblings and reactions to people. Our tendencies when interacting with others will be closer than an only child and one from a multi-sibling household.

So, you better have brothers/sisters. And if you're a middle child, all the better. *winks*
