Joy in the Heart

So, I just told you about my struggles this past week. And since I couldn't muster the enthusiasm or motivation to get to writing or other work, I watched movies. That, sleeping and reading are my escapes. One of the movies was a favorite...You've Got Mail.

Near the end, right as Joe Fox realizes he's fallen for Kathleen Kelly, and his father is talking about how easy it is to bounce back in relationships, Joe delivers this line:

"Yeah. It's a snap to find the one single person in the world who fills your heart with joy."

The sarcasm drips from his tongue. But how true that is. How many people do we meet and we think that one has potential? Then, we meet someone whose name makes us smile. When just a thought of that person makes all present circumstances, no matter how bad, seem a bit lighter and easier to handle. I'm confident it will be that way with us. And I look forward to a life like that with you.
